human.API and the Cloud Machine

The following is a proposal for the iDAT 101 Social Interventions project

human.API is the largest Advanced Programming Interface project to Date. It's Aim, to enable developers to process unaltered Human Language, both visual and audio, as Queries and Data Inputs and provide tools across devices that enable consistent operation across devices. Use of human.API breaks down the interface barrier between person and computer, enabling one and another to communicate efficiently and semantically within an instant.

One of the first human.API certified devices is the Cloud Machine, one of a new breed of inter networked 'Infinite Media Players', the Cloud Machine can Access any Article, Piece of Music or Video form the network wirelessly, at no subscription fee to the user. The only cost is the cost of the device, and Media accessed is buffered by relevant advertising. human.API enhances the device by making the Cloud Machine infinitely usable to all.

Surely API is 'Application Programing Interface'?

'Tis a cool idea, but I'd be happy to say that we are many, many years away from a computer that interacts with us, rather than the other way round.

And anyway, we already have a slew of 'programs' that take advantage of the human api - social engineering in it's many forms, from cons to marketing, is essentially relying on common aspects of the human mind and body. That is programming in itself!

Before I rant too much about HCI (a personal favorite subject), could you clarify the aims of idat101?

Hey Dan - Thanks for the Feedback!

iDat 101 is Strategies for Art and Technology. In This Project, the Aim is to Consider the impact of a Future Technology on our Daily Lives.

My idea focuses around a break down of interface between user and Computer (Perhaps the Cloud Machine isn't the best example of this) and What effect there would be on Mass Media. Social Engineering aspects certainly come in to it, In to how Media becomes popularized were professionally produced content is placed on the same level as user generated content. I've been looking a things like Digg to get a few ideas of how it could work!

Thanks Again!
